Michael Artinger, CEO
Michael Artinger, Ph.D., provides over 20 years of experience developing and commercializing cutting-edge technologies—including analytical instrumentation—in multiple verticals. Most recently, he founded and built ViroCyt, a company using flow cytometry to rapidly quantify sub-micron particles such as viruses, resulting in its acquisition by Sartorius. In addition to his role as Company CEO, he is the Executive Vice President and Managing Director of VIC Technology Venture Development, which has an outstanding track record of building high value enterprises from innovative intellectual property licensed from leading research universities.
Masoud Agah, CTO
Masoud Agah, Ph.D., serves as Zebra Analytix’ Chief Technology Officer and is the Virginia Microelectronics Consortium (VMEC) Professor of Engineering in the Bradley Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Virginia Tech. Upon joining Virginia Tech in 2005, he established its Microelectromechanical Systems Laboratory, the VT MEMS Lab, and has focused his research on environmental and biomedical applications of MEMS, receiving the National Science Foundation Faculty Early Career Development Program (CAREER) Award in 2008 to support his research on micro gas chromatography. Dr. Agah has received numerous other awards and recognition for his research throughout his career, and is a core member of the Virginia Tech-Wake Forest School of Biomedical Engineering and Sciences.
Xiaoli Su, Director of R&D
Dr. Su has a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry and a broad background in medicine (pharmacy). He has a proven track record in both academia and industry with over 20 years’ experience in automated analytical and bioanalytical systems, biosensors, chemical sensors, and assay development. His technical leadership has led to the successful development of self-contained microfluidic cartridge based automated immunoassay system, multichannel capillary immunoassay instrument, handheld photoelectrochemical biosensing device, novel nucleic acid amplification tests, and many other innovative technologies and products for rapid detection of a variety of biological and chemical species. In his research areas, Dr. Su has published one book chapter and 60 peer-reviewed journal articles and has 4 patents (issued and pending).
Chien Nguyen, Senior Electrical Engineer
Dr. Nguyen has a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, and his primary areas of technical focus are in electrical engineering design, instrument prototyping and development. His work is essential due to his expertise in silicon/LTCC-base sensors microfabrication, as well as the electrical design and implementation of microprocessor/microcontroller based systems. Dr. Nguyen is experienced with CAD/CAM software such as OrCAD, AutoCAD, and Inventor and with many different programming languages such as C/C++, assembly languages, Matlab, and VHDL. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and the American Chemical Society.
